1. Operator

2. What we verify

Sellers complete proportionate KYC/KYB: legal and trading names, entity type, registration and KRA details where applicable, address and operating location, authorised representative, product categories, fulfilment arrangements, and settlement beneficiary ownership checks. Document requirements differ for individuals, sole proprietors, and companies.

3. Application statuses

Applications move from draft → submitted → under review → needs information → approved or rejected. An approved seller can also be suspended later. Paystack-enabled listing go-live and checkout require an approved application. Existing sellers are not auto-verified.

4. TrustPass is separate

TrustPass reputation and progressive scoring are not the same as identity verification, business verification, or Paystack approval. A high TrustPass score does not unlock Paystack commerce without KYB APPROVED.

5. Enhanced due diligence

Higher-risk sellers may be asked for additional ownership, sourcing, licence, or location evidence. Sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP), and adverse-media checks stay marked as not yet checked until a documented manual review (or a future integrated provider) is recorded. Potential matches require human review.
